Dromex DuPont Nomex Fire Suit. The fire suit consists of fire resistant jacket and pants. The suit protects the user from hazards of fire contact. These garments are suitable for use when working in hazardous environments. Environments such as wildland fires, fire fighting, petrochemical, utility and chemical industries. The Nomex engineered knitted construction is lightweight with wicking finishes for improved breathability and conforms to the latest SANS 434 standard. This ensures that the garment provides the user with ultimate comfort and protection.
The actual structure of the fibre itself is not flammable therefore these properties can never be worn away or washed out. When exposed to flame, the aramid fibre swells and become thicker, forming a protective barrier between the heat source and the skin. This protective barrier also stays supple until it cools giving the wearer vital extra seconds of protection to escape from the hazard. Nomex fabric won’t continue to burn or melt when the flame is removed. Also, the fabric is abrasion, tear and wear resistant and has a long wear life.
Other features of the fire suit include high visibility fire retardant reflective tape on the arms for enhanced visibility when working in poor lighting environments. A concealed brass YKK zip and press stud closure make the garment easy to put on and take off. Side slits make for a better fit over the waist. Triple-needle topstitched throughout the garment for added durability. An inner elasticated waist ensures optimum fit and flexibility with 7 belt loops.
